The Benoît Bed | Caramel Woven Wood

The Design Story

Solid acacia arranged in sweeping geometric panels of warm, multidirectional grain.

The Benoît Bed treats wood grain almost like a textile. Crafted from solid acacia, its broad headboard and coordinating footboard are composed of multidirectional panels that intersect, overlap, and change direction across the surface, creating the visual impression of wood being woven together.

Softly rounded corners temper the geometry, while slender integrated legs and an open space beneath the headboard keep the substantial solid-wood construction visually light. The warm caramel finish draws attention to the natural variation within the acacia, allowing each shift in grain direction to catch the light differently and making the pattern feel dimensional rather than applied.

There is a distinct Mid-Century influence in Benoît's restraint, but the expressive woodwork gives it a more contemporary presence. From a distance, the pattern reads as a strong architectural composition; closer inspection reveals the individual grain, tonal variation, and construction that give the bed its character.

Available in Queen and King sizes, Benoît provides reinforced slat support without requiring a box spring and is compatible with adjustable bed bases.

Material Character

The Nature of the Piece

Acacia is allowed to become both material and pattern in Benoît. Rather than arranging the wood in a single continuous direction, individual sections turn across the headboard and footboard, bringing contrasting grain lines into conversation with one another. The effect recalls weaving or parquetry without disguising the fact that the composition is constructed entirely from wood.

The caramel finish heightens those differences instead of flattening them. Honeyed browns, deeper amber tones, knots, and natural grain markings shift from panel to panel, while the changing orientation causes each section to respond differently to light. The result has a tactile visual depth: orderly enough to feel architectural, yet irregular enough to retain the unmistakable character of natural timber. Variation between individual beds is inherent to the material and part of the design.

No two homes come together in quite the same way—and neither do the pieces chosen for them. Our collection brings together furnishings and objects from a variety of makers and manufacturers, each with its own production schedules, shipping methods, and delivery options.

We consider those differences part of the process of sourcing pieces with character. Whether an item arrives by parcel within days, travels by freight, or is prepared especially for your order, our focus remains the same: selecting pieces worth bringing into your home and making the journey from their source to your space as thoughtful as possible.

A well-considered home isn't assembled all at once. It takes shape piece by piece, through objects chosen not simply to fill a space, but to make that space feel like home.
