The Design Story

Repeating carved ridges wrap a substantial mango-wood cylinder beneath a smooth round top.

The Gabin Accent Table turns repetition into structure. Its cylindrical mango-wood base is carved with closely spaced horizontal ridges, creating a spindle-like rhythm that wraps the entire form and gives the table depth without adding separate ornament. Light settles differently across each ridge, so the silhouette reads as solid and grounded from a distance, then becomes increasingly tactile as the eye moves closer.

A smooth round tabletop provides a deliberate pause above the carved base, keeping the piece functional and visually controlled. At 22 inches high and 18 inches wide, Gabin has enough scale to anchor a chair-side vignette, and its substantial 55.5-pound weight reinforces the sense of permanence created by the cylindrical form. The table works because it allows one material and one repeated gesture to carry the design: warm wood, carved rhythm, and a clean top held in disciplined balance.

Material Character

The Nature of the Piece

Mango wood gives Gabin a warm, naturally grained surface that prevents the strong cylindrical geometry from feeling severe. The brown coloration and visible wood character add depth across the broad base, while the carved horizontal channels interrupt the surface just enough to create bands of highlight and shadow. Texture is therefore not applied after the fact; it is cut directly into the material and becomes part of the table's construction and visual identity.

The contrast between the ridged base and smooth tabletop is especially important. The carved lower section feels tactile and dimensional, while the quieter top lets the grain and color of the mango wood remain legible without competing with the base. The result is a piece in which the wood does more than provide structure: its grain, density, and ability to hold carved detail are central to the table's sculptural presence.

Additional Information

No two homes come together in quite the same way—and neither do the pieces chosen for them. Our collection brings together furnishings and objects from a variety of makers and manufacturers, each with its own production schedules, shipping methods, and delivery options.

We consider those differences part of the process of sourcing pieces with character. Whether an item arrives by parcel within days, travels by freight, or is prepared especially for your order, our focus remains the same: selecting pieces worth bringing into your home and making the journey from their source to your space as thoughtful as possible.

A well-considered home isn't assembled all at once. It takes shape piece by piece, through objects chosen not simply to fill a space, but to make that space feel like home.
