The Design Story

Tailored stripes meet sculptural solid wood in a chair with a distinctly modern point of view.

The Odette Accent Chair takes the familiarity of a striped textile and gives it architectural presence. Broad bands of burgundy and ivory wrap the generously cushioned seat and back, creating a strong graphic rhythm against the dark solid-wood frame. Rather than disappearing beneath the upholstery, the structure becomes part of the design: widened arms sweep outward in crisp, angular lines while splayed legs give the chair a grounded, mid-century-inflected stance.

Odette is colorful without becoming whimsical and expressive without overwhelming the room. Its combination of warm wood, saturated stripe and substantial proportions makes it equally compelling as a solitary reading chair or as part of a more layered seating arrangement.

Material Character

The Nature of the Piece

Odette's character comes from the tension between textile softness and exposed structure. The linen upholstery carries visible woven texture, allowing the alternating burgundy and ivory bands to feel tactile rather than simply graphic. Against it, the dark solid-wood frame provides visual weight and definition.

The unusually broad arms are especially important: instead of serving merely as supports, they extend outward as deliberate planes of wood, emphasizing the construction of the chair and giving its silhouette an unmistakable identity. Plush high-density cushioning softens those architectural lines, creating a piece that feels substantial, tailored and inviting at once.

Additional Information

No two homes come together in quite the same way—and neither do the pieces chosen for them. Our collection brings together furnishings and objects from a variety of makers and manufacturers, each with its own production schedules, shipping methods, and delivery options.

We consider those differences part of the process of sourcing pieces with character. Whether an item arrives by parcel within days, travels by freight, or is prepared especially for your order, our focus remains the same: selecting pieces worth bringing into your home and making the journey from their source to your space as thoughtful as possible.

A well-considered home isn't assembled all at once. It takes shape piece by piece, through objects chosen not simply to fill a space, but to make that space feel like home.
