An irregular wood cross-section lifted on black metal, offered in warm natural grain or a mineral blue-green finish.

The Bastien Wood Sculpture frames the unpredictable contour of a natural wood cross-section as a piece of standing architecture. Broad lobes, raw edges, and an irregular central opening create a silhouette governed by the material rather than imposed symmetry.

Two slim black supports lift the wood above a rectangular base, turning the voids and grain into part of the composition. The natural-teak version emphasizes warm brown figuring, while the blue-green tamarind version brings mineral color across the sawn surface; because each is individually handcrafted, contour and grain will vary.

The Nature of the Piece

Bastien is defined by the growth pattern of the wood itself. Swirling grain, dark fissures, open voids, and raw perimeter edges give the broad face a topographic quality that differs between individual pieces.

The natural finish keeps teak warm and richly figured; the blue-green treatment settles into the tamarind grain without disguising it. A matte black metal base provides visual restraint beneath both versions.

Returns & Restocking

We accept returns with prior authorization within 21 days. We will deduct a 25% restocking fee and return shipping from your refund. Returns must be in original condition, uninstalled (if applicable), and in original packaging.

Shipping

Complimentary standard shipping is included on all orders. Smaller items typically ship by parcel carrier, while larger furniture, oversized pieces, and heavy natural stone items may ship by freight.

For freight deliveries, the carrier will contact you directly using the phone number provided with your order to arrange a delivery appointment. Standard freight service typically delivers your order to the curb, driveway, garage, or first dry area accessible to the carrier, depending on the carrier and delivery location. Standard freight delivery does not include placement inside your home, unpacking, assembly, or removal of packaging unless specifically stated.

Some products may offer upgraded delivery services, such as threshold, room-of-choice, or white-glove delivery. When an upgrade is available, the available service options and any additional charges will be shown at checkout.

Damages

If your order arrives damaged, submit claims within 2 days of receipt. Include photos of the unopened packaging, photos of the damage, and a copy of the signed BOL noting the damage.
Missing Items

Items shown as 'Delivered' by the carrier but are reported missing must be reported to Daniel House Club within 1 week of the delivery date as shown by the carrier.
