The Design Story

Two porous lava-stone forms that separate to hold books or interlock as a compact abstract sculpture.

Designed by Colin King for Audo Copenhagen, the Converge Bookends reduce support and counterweight to two intersecting stone gestures. Each CNC-cut form is angular and deliberately off-axis, giving a line of books a more sculptural boundary than a conventional upright block.

Separated, the pair brackets books with dark, porous mass; interlocked, the pieces become a compact composition of crossing planes and compressed negative space. Lava stone gives the geometry a tactile, volcanic surface that softens the precision of the cut edges.

Material Character

The Nature of the Piece

Lava stone carries a naturally porous surface, with small pits and tonal shifts that remain visible across the CNC-cut planes. The texture gives the black material depth even in low or directional light.

Stone is inherently variable, so markings and surface character will differ between pieces. Those differences belong to the material’s geological formation rather than indicating damage or imperfect manufacture.

Shipping

Complimentary standard shipping is included on all orders. Smaller items typically ship by parcel carrier, while larger furniture, oversized pieces, and heavy natural stone items may ship by freight.

For freight deliveries, the carrier will contact you directly using the phone number provided with your order to arrange a delivery appointment. Standard freight service typically delivers your order to the curb, driveway, garage, or first dry area accessible to the carrier, depending on the carrier and delivery location. Standard freight delivery does not include placement inside your home, unpacking, assembly, or removal of packaging unless specifically stated.

Some products may offer upgraded delivery services, such as threshold, room-of-choice, or white-glove delivery. When an upgrade is available, the available service options and any additional charges will be shown at checkout.

Please make sure the phone number provided with your order is accurate and that someone is available to receive and inspect the shipment at the scheduled delivery time.
Expedited Delivery

Damages

If your order arrives damaged, submit claims within 2 days of receipt. Include photos of the unopened packaging, photos of the damage, and a copy of the signed BOL noting the damage.
Missing Items

Items shown as 'Delivered' by the carrier but are reported missing must be reported to Daniel House Club within 1 week of the delivery date as shown by the carrier.
