The Design Story

A dramatic marble pedestal table shaped by contrast, movement, and old-world glamour.

Lotus begins beneath the surface.

Three monumental marble forms curve upward like overlapping petals, meeting beneath a circular glass top in a composition that feels equal parts architecture and sculpture. The geometry is simple enough to understand at a glance, yet the changing viewpoints around the table continually alter the relationship between the three forms—one appearing dominant, another receding, their contrasting stones intersecting beneath the glass.

That contrast is fundamental to Lotus. Pale, intricately veined marble is set against dramatically graphic black-and-white stone, allowing each petal to remain visually distinct while the three read as a single sculptural base. Rather than treating marble as a decorative surface applied to conventional furniture, Lotus asks the material to create the structure itself.

The glass top deliberately leaves that architecture exposed. Its visual lightness counters the substantial presence of the stone below while preserving sightlines through and around the base.

Available in 42-inch and 48-inch diameters, Lotus brings the intimacy of a round dining table together with the presence of a true collection piece.

The Nature of the Piece

Lotus depends upon contrast—not simply between black and white, but between two distinctly expressive marbles, each bringing its own visual rhythm to the composition.

Arabescato introduces a luminous ground animated by fluid grey veining, giving the lighter petals movement without diminishing their architectural clarity. Grand Antique provides the counterpoint: dramatically graphic black stone fractured by bold white mineral patterning. Where the two meet and overlap, their opposing characters make each petal legible while allowing the three forms to read as one sculptural base.

The polished finish intensifies that relationship, bringing depth and definition to the natural veining while allowing light to travel across the curved edges of the stone. Above, the black glass top creates a deliberate material tension—sleek and visually lighter against the substantial marble below—while preserving views into the petal-like construction from different positions around the table.

As natural marble, Arabescato and Grand Antique will vary in veining, color, mineral markings and pattern from piece to piece. Those differences are integral to Lotus. The stone does not simply decorate the form; its individual geological character completes it.

Standard freight delivery does not include placement inside your home, unpacking, assembly, or removal of packaging unless specifically stated.

Items shown as 'Delivered' by the carrier but are reported missing must be reported to Daniel House Club within 1 week of the delivery date as shown by the carrier.
