The Design Story

A transparent bubble-glass pedestal lifts a warm antique-brass top with an airy, handcrafted presence.

The Perrine Side Table is built around a deliberate tension between transparency and weight. A rounded tabletop in an antique-brass finish rests above a clear bubble-glass pedestal, allowing the base to occupy physical space without visually closing off the room around it. The glass form softens the geometry of a conventional side table, while the warm metal above gives the composition a crisp horizontal finish and enough visual gravity to keep the piece from feeling fragile.

Handcrafted in India, Perrine measures just over 17 inches wide and 19 inches high, a scale that works naturally beside a lounge chair, sofa, or within a tighter conversation area. The open quality of the glass makes it particularly useful when a room needs another functional surface but not another visually dense object. Its appeal comes from that balance: a practical occasional table whose material contrast gives it the presence of a decorative object.

Material Character

The Nature of the Piece

Clear glass gives Perrine its visual lightness. The rounded, bubble-like pedestal allows light to pass through the base, while the thickness and curvature of the glass create reflections and gentle distortions that change as the viewing angle shifts. Because the base remains transparent, nearby flooring, upholstery, and architectural details continue through the silhouette rather than being interrupted by an opaque mass.

Above it, the antique-brass-finished metal top introduces warmth, opacity, and a more tactile counterpoint to the glass. The pairing keeps either material from dominating: the glass prevents the metal from feeling heavy, while the warm metallic surface gives the transparent base a defined architectural cap. The supplier identifies the table as handcrafted, so the piece is best understood as a mixed-material object with an artisan character rather than a perfectly machine-neutral form.

Additional Information

No two homes come together in quite the same way—and neither do the pieces chosen for them. Our collection brings together furnishings and objects from a variety of makers and manufacturers, each with its own production schedules, shipping methods, and delivery options.

We consider those differences part of the process of sourcing pieces with character. Whether an item arrives by parcel within days, travels by freight, or is prepared especially for your order, our focus remains the same: selecting pieces worth bringing into your home and making the journey from their source to your space as thoughtful as possible.

A well-considered home isn't assembled all at once. It takes shape piece by piece, through objects chosen not simply to fill a space, but to make that space feel like home.
