The Design Story

Expressive botanical engravings and jewel-toned hummingbirds in a garden alive with movement.

There is a particular beauty in the moment when nature seems to stand still, even as life moves all around it.

The Céleste Mural captures that delicate contrast through an extraordinary composition of oversized botanical illustrations and brilliantly colored hummingbirds. Rendered in intricate black ink-like linework, the sweeping leaves and sculptural blossoms evoke the elegance of antique botanical engravings, while flashes of turquoise, coral, violet, and emerald introduce an unexpected sense of vitality.

The contrast is captivating. Monochromatic florals establish an almost architectural presence against a soft ivory ground, allowing the hummingbirds to emerge like tiny jewels suspended among the foliage. Their delicate wings and graceful movements bring life to the composition without diminishing the sophistication of its illustrated foundation.

Céleste possesses a versatility rarely found in such expressive artwork. Paired with rich velvet upholstery, dark wood, and sculptural brass, the mural takes on a romantic, fashion-forward quality. Against pale stone, restrained furnishings, and contemporary architectural elements, it becomes quietly luminous and distinctly artistic.

Whether creating an intimate powder room, an enchanting bedroom, or a dramatic living space, Céleste transforms the wall into a landscape of beauty and imagination.

A garden captured in ink. A moment of color caught in flight.

Material Character

The Nature of the Piece

Céleste brings together the intricate appearance of hand-rendered botanical engravings and the expressive brilliance of colored illustration. Fine black linework defines the contours of broad leaves, curling petals, and dramatic blossoms, creating depth through delicate shading and carefully articulated detail.

Against the soft ivory background, the hummingbirds introduce luminous color and a sense of movement. Their vivid feathers offer a beautiful counterpoint to the restrained monochromatic foliage, giving the overall composition an extraordinary balance of softness and contrast.

Printed on substantial 300 gsm non-woven material, the mural features a textured matte finish with a fine embossed pattern. The low-sheen surface lends a tactile quality to the artwork, allowing the illustrated detail to remain the focal point without competing reflections.

The generous scale of the botanical forms gives Céleste a distinctly architectural presence, while the delicate birds bring an intimate, almost whimsical dimension to the design. Together, these qualities create a surface that feels artistic, expressive, and beautifully layered.

No two homes come together in quite the same way—and neither do the pieces chosen for them. Our collection brings together furnishings and objects from a variety of makers and manufacturers, each with its own production schedules, shipping methods, and delivery options.

We consider those differences part of the process of sourcing pieces with character. Whether an item arrives by parcel within days, travels by freight, or is prepared especially for your order, our focus remains the same: selecting pieces worth bringing into your home and making the journey from their source to your space as thoughtful as possible.

A well-considered home isn't assembled all at once. It takes shape piece by piece, through objects chosen not simply to fill a space, but to make that space feel like home.
