The Design Story

Overscaled painterly florals unfold across a near-black ground in softened jewel tones and warm botanical color.

Delphine treats the wall less like a backdrop and more like a vast painted garden. Overscaled blossoms overlap with elongated leaves, delicate stems and smaller botanical fragments, creating a composition that feels abundant without becoming chaotic. Against the near-black ground, dusty plum, softened orange, muted green and touches of blue emerge with remarkable depth, while restrained gold accents bring warmth through the darker palette.

There is romance here, but very little sweetness. The flowers are expressive and imperfect, their softened edges and layered coloration giving the pattern the character of an aged botanical painting rather than a crisp decorative print. At this scale, the composition changes the architecture of the room: individual blooms become forms, dark negative space creates rhythm, and the wall develops a sense of depth beyond its physical surface.

Pair Delphine with quiet upholstery, warm woods, aged or brushed metals and natural stone, allowing the pattern to provide the room's color and movement. In a bedroom, dining room, powder room or enveloping sitting space, it offers an alternative to restrained neutral walls without sacrificing sophistication.

Material Character

The Nature of the Piece

Delphine's non-woven construction provides the foundation for a surface designed to feel richer than a flat printed wall. A paper-texture appearance introduces visual softness, tempering the saturated botanical palette and giving the flowers a more tactile, painted quality. The subtle sheen is deliberately restrained: rather than producing an overtly glossy surface, it allows portions of the pattern to respond gently as light moves through the room.

The dark ground is equally important to the material experience. It creates visual depth between the overlapping flowers and foliage, allowing muted jewel tones and warmer botanical shades to emerge from shadow rather than simply sitting on top of the wall. The result has presence at a distance and reveals considerably more variation when viewed closely.

No two homes come together in quite the same way—and neither do the pieces chosen for them. Our collection brings together furnishings and objects from a variety of makers and manufacturers, each with its own production schedules, shipping methods, and delivery options.

We consider those differences part of the process of sourcing pieces with character. Whether an item arrives by parcel within days, travels by freight, or is prepared especially for your order, our focus remains the same: selecting pieces worth bringing into your home and making the journey from their source to your space as thoughtful as possible.

A well-considered home isn't assembled all at once. It takes shape piece by piece, through objects chosen not simply to fill a space, but to make that space feel like home.
