The Design Story

Golden linework unfolds across midnight blue in a dramatic botanical composition.

Théodine transforms the delicacy of a waterlily into an expansive architectural statement. Across a saturated midnight-blue ground, hundreds of slender, golden-toned lines rise, curve, and converge in graceful formations, creating a composition that feels at once botanical and distinctly geometric.

Inspired by the stylized natural forms of the Art Deco movement, the design captures the elegance of unfolding petals through repetition, symmetry, and beautifully controlled linework. Each fine filament contributes to a larger sculptural gesture, producing an extraordinary sense of movement across the wall.

The composition possesses an almost kinetic quality. Slender lines appear to fan outward, gathering into sweeping arcs before dispersing again into the surrounding blue. Variations in the intensity of the background introduce additional dimension, shifting between rich sapphire, cobalt, and deeper midnight tones.

What makes Théodine particularly compelling is its balance of ornamentation and restraint. Despite the intricate linework, the limited palette allows the design to retain a confident architectural presence rather than becoming visually crowded. The result is expressive without excess, dramatic without sacrificing sophistication.

Material Character

The Nature of the Piece

Théodine is digitally printed on a 300 gsm non-woven wallcovering featuring a fine embossed matte surface. The subtle physical texture introduces material interest beneath the artwork, tempering the precision of the linear composition with a restrained tactile finish.

The relationship between surface and print is particularly important to Théodine's visual character. Its closely spaced, golden-toned lines depend on clarity and definition to establish their sweeping movement. High-resolution printing renders these delicate forms against the varying depths of blue, creating contrast without the need for a reflective metallic surface.

The matte finish gives the saturated ground a composed, understated quality. Rather than relying on gloss or shimmer, Théodine achieves its dramatic effect through color, scale, and the graceful accumulation of printed lines.

No two homes come together in quite the same way—and neither do the pieces chosen for them. Our collection brings together furnishings and objects from a variety of makers and manufacturers, each with its own production schedules, shipping methods, and delivery options.

We consider those differences part of the process of sourcing pieces with character. Whether an item arrives by parcel within days, travels by freight, or is prepared especially for your order, our focus remains the same: selecting pieces worth bringing into your home and making the journey from their source to your space as thoughtful as possible.

A well-considered home isn't assembled all at once. It takes shape piece by piece, through objects chosen not simply to fill a space, but to make that space feel like home.
