The Design Story

Deep cobalt glass gathers into a low, fluid form above a clear sculptural base.

Lucie is defined by an unusual shift in visual gravity.

The upper bowl appears dense and substantial, its deeply saturated cobalt glass collecting light around a thick, softly irregular perimeter. Rather than continuing that mass to the surface below, the form transitions into a transparent glass base.

That contrast changes the way the bowl reads. The cobalt portion feels almost suspended above the table, while the clear support allows surrounding color and light to remain visible through the lower structure.

Its geometry is deliberately softened. No severe angles or rigid symmetry compete with the material; instead, the broad rim moves through gentle curves that let the glass's color and transparency carry the composition.

Lucie works particularly well where an interior needs a concentrated moment of color without adding visual clutter. Against natural wood, pale stone, charcoal, ivory, or warmer neutrals, the cobalt becomes an intentional focal point rather than simply another decorative accessory.

Material Character

The Nature of the Piece

Lucie uses the natural optical qualities of glass as part of its structure. The cobalt upper portion reads richly saturated along its thicker edges while becoming more translucent where light moves through the shallower center.

The clear lower base creates a second material expression without introducing another substance. Transparency, reflection, and color perform different roles within the same glass construction, allowing the piece to shift depending on its surroundings and the direction of the light.

Because the piece is artisan-produced, expect slight differences in finish, tone, texture, and color that contribute to each bowl's individual character.

If your order arrives damaged, submit claims within 2 days of receipt. Include photos of the unopened packaging, photos of the damage, and a copy of the signed BOL noting the damage.

Items shown as 'Delivered' by the carrier but are reported missing must be reported to Daniel House Club within 1 week of the delivery date as shown by the carrier.
