Considered Details
Design Highlights
- 01 Adjustable Opposing Shades — Two independently movable quarter-spherical shades allow the direction and character of the light to be altered.
- 02 Transformable Light Direction — Configure the fixture to cast light upward, downward, or asymmetrically depending on placement and atmosphere.
- 03 Concentric Sculptural Geometry — A circular outer frame surrounds layered cylindrical forms, creating the distinctive architectural profile of the Multi-Lite.
- 04 Louis Weisdorf, 1972 — An original Danish design by Louis Weisdorf whose adaptable construction remains central to its identity more than five decades later.

Material Character
The Nature of the Piece
The most important material quality is movement. Rather than presenting a single fixed exterior surface, the opposing shades rotate around the central structure, exposing and concealing different portions of the fixture as their positions change. Light, reflection, shadow, and silhouette therefore become part of the material experience.
Turn the shades upward for reflected illumination, downward for a more concentrated pool of light, or offset them to create an asymmetrical arrangement. Each adjustment alters both the pendant's function and its geometry, giving the fixture an unusually expressive presence for its compact scale.
